• This type of sitting posture provides obstruction to the passage of the intestine and it becomes difficult to pass stool, so person applying pressure.
• While passing stool and this pressure put on rectum and cause haemorrhoids(piles).
• Haemorrhoids usually caused by straining during bowel movements (constipation), obesity or pregnancy.
• Haemorrhoids are very common and are treatable.
• On using Western toilets, it does not lead to good and satisfactory clearance of stool because it does not put any pressure on stomach.
• Indian toilets are best for digestive system.
• Surprisingly, Indian toilets are more hygienic than Western type.
• Indian toilets are eco friendly with less use of water.
• Using toilet paper in western toilets also leads to wastage of paper and require more water as compared to Indian toilets.
