 INTRODUCTION 

MENSTRUAL CYCLE IS A PERIODIC CYCLE IN ADULT WOMEN.

IT STARTED IN AGE OF 13 TO 14 YEAR AND REMAIN TILL AGE OF 45 TO 50 YEARS OF REPRODUCTIVE LIFE.

MENSTRUAL PROBLEMS ARE COMMON ISSUES AFFECTING MILLIONS OF WOMEN.

IN AYURVEDA TEXT, MENSTRUATION IS CONSIDERED A NATURAL PROCESS THAT OCCURS IN WOMEN, KNOWN AS 'RAJASWALA'. IT IS INFLUENCED BY VATA, PITTA AND KAPHA DOSHAS.


 COMMON MENSTRUAL PROBLEMS:

1. DYSMENORRHOEA (PAINFUL PERIODS): CRAMPING,NAUSEA AND VOMITING.

2. MENORRHAGIA (HEAVY BLEEDING): PROLONGED PERIODS,CLOTS AND FATIGUE

1. HORMONAL IMBALANCE: ESTROGEN, PROGESTERONE, THYROID HORMONE 

2. REPRODUCTIVE ORGAN ISSUE: ENDOMETRIOSIS, UTERINE FIBROIDS, ADENOMYOSIS, OVARIAN CYST, PELVIC INFLAMMATORY DISEASE(PID)

3. LIFESTYLE FACTORS: POOR DIET, LACK OF EXERCISE, STRESS AND ANXIETY, OBESITY, SMOKING
